I remember reading about different tone that triggered the event system in asterisk and made possible to have a local qso even if connected to other nodes..

Not to my knowledge.

You can have different - multiple tones defined for a single node. Sort
of like a tone panel in commercial repeater systems, but I've never
heard of using multiple node instances on one radio interface.
