In configuration of simpleusb the following line is mentioned -

touch /etc/init.d/simpleusb

I presume this is just to put a zero length file marker at this location? Is this needed? What references this?

Does simple USB need to be a service in any derivative of app_rpt -  zaptel/dahdi ?
