Hello Jeff -

     We are using voted receivers - and it is very interesting that
you mention the network issues causing the dropping which I
describe as GPS drops.

        I assumed since the error on the serial monitor indicates
that the "GPS ....lost.." followed by "acquiring... xx satellites in
view" then "establishing.." (I dont recall the actual wording)
statements to be caused by an interruption of the GPS, or the
handling of the GPS serial by the RTCM DSPic.  During
the test of the full system last night I noticed over two-dozen
interruptions, mostly at the remote transmitter site, that caused
a lot of problems.  All of the sites are on the same ISP with
over 1-Gbs bandwidth at all of the sites. I called the ISP this afternon
and was told that at 7-9PM last night that the POP where the
TX was located, the bandwidth was full - this makes a lot of
sense now....  ALSO, today we noticed that the DMR system
at the site is having refresh and registration issues from packet
drop with the C-Bridge, and the ISP bandwidth issues still persist.

        It does appear that the network is a serious limitation until
the next Gb of bandwidth is completed, at least to our transmit
"site", slated for the next month  So the network is now a known
problem. I guess that I had mis-interpreted this dropped packet issue
as a  GPS lock issue. I had been considering running a file on
the GPS rx serial line along with a file of the console serial to
see if I can actually correlate the GPS error messages with a
problem on the rx serial in - but if you have seen this before as
a result of the network problem, then I will rectify the network issue first
and then see if the GPS errors abate.

             I really appreciate this insight !

Just curious, how are you sure it's GPS dropping?  I had a similar issue and I was sure it was GPS but it wound up being a network issue on a network that I was SURE was perfect.  What's your setup?  Voted receivers, simulcast transmitters or a standalone RTCM?

I have been noticing my nodes getting disconnected at 4:02 AM once a week.
It seems to coincide with a logrotate operation that happens at the same
time.  Is this supposed to work this way?  (Version 0.325 running under
Centos 5.1)

Hello All -
?????????????? I am having some real problems with a small voting systemusing allstarlink and the RTCM.? The biggest problem is that the GPSdrops lock at times once every 15 minutes, at other times once every4-5 hours.? I am using Garmin-18 LVC GPS units with 9600 baud settings.Are there others on the list that have had this problem before, and howdid they solve the issue ???????????????

I have dealt with similar GPS issues. Usually the LOS is caused either
by antenna or interference issues. If you are not very close to a high
power broadcast station and the antenna is fairly clear to the sky,
double check your antenna connections/connectors, and try a different
antenna.

got a 2 node site with Acid on an old P4 computer. It is working great but
I need to replace it before it goes down.

I will replace it with a used server computer that is in great shape. a
proliant with dual nic (gigabit) multiple power supply, ect.. xeon dual cpu
8 gig of ram.

I know that it is over kill but it was given to me and I want to connect
the second nic to a Mesh that we are starting around Montreal and provide
service from there..

So I need to confirm some stuff..

Can I use the configuration file that I have from the old computer?
will the node level settings be the same, or do I need to redo the level
ajustement?

I know that I some files will need to be changed.. can anyone confirm wich
one?
