Seems different phones requires different actions to exit IAXRPT.  On my Samsung Galaxy 4 on the Sprint network, I have to tap the bottom left button.  When I do I have 3 options:

 

1. Accounts

2. About?

3. Exit

 

In my case I tap the “exit” button.
