I just downloaded VMware player and installed it onto my win 7 HP laptop. Then I loaded CentOS and Asterisk from my ISO image CD.

 

I’m using the URI... and it WORKS PERFECTLY! I can log into it with putty, and WINscp as well via the win 7 laptop that it’s running on. Pretty slick!

 

Now installing it on my other HP Win 7 laptop.
