OK  If you are using packet port (discriminator) then set ctcssfrom= no
and carrierfrom=dsp
and
rxdemod=flat

That should get IT working.

If the adapter is not being found at all try this....

When you boot up you should see one of these initialized in the messages. After boot do -

dmesg | more

and page through and see if it found your adapter.

I am using the DMK and it looks like this -
