While not a thin client, I might suggest a "genuine" Intel Atom PC Board.
Minimal power consumption and enough horsepower to run multi-nodes.
Couple that with a mobile power supply and that keeps it all 12vdc.

Ok so if the BB Black isn't an option, what are the minimum hardware specs I should be looking for when I go looking for a thin client?

ideally I want four or five radio ports. Simple USB connections radios will supply cos / tos signals.

and honestly I don't really need or care for linking it via the internet so less over head there.
