It is seen on the console at the other end. I've seen it used to announce nodes connecting and disconnecting. I'll let Tim (Allmon2) comment if the message could be visible on Allmon2. Could the message be grabbed up by a script? Don't know. I'll let someone who may have done it comment.

I know that the destination node number can be passed from DTMF but I could not get the message to pass. Of course, the message in that case would be numeric.
