Why not get a SSD? I picked up a 128gb one for 98 dollars at Compusa in Tampa a couple weeks ago. They are low power, and you don't have to worry about spinning disks.Our chosen server is a dual processor dual core Opteron with RAID 0, 1 or 5. We plan on using RAID 1. I was planning on using green drives that power down when not in use but something tells me that Asterisks is going to want full spin-up to avoid dropped data packets. Your guidance is appreciated.
