I may be able to shed some light on why some might want the digits...

At one time I ran APP_RPT in parallel rptr input to a cat 1000 via a 3 port mixer.
Most of the higher level functions I had used ABC...   remote base actions and the like.

Having been ABC on the cat originally,  it made easy to separate the 6 remotes on the 220 and 2 on app_rpt without any accidental intercept of commands.

They were some complex macros and I really did not want to do a re-write against possible conflicts with what app_rpt had because it reads the string at any point in the string for a match..

It was not that big of a deal as I just made a bunch of batch files to do the job.
So I stayed at a command line and not iaxrpt.

The issue is *why* is it so danged important to have the A-D keys decoded?  security through obscurity?  Because they are there on ham mics?  

No one has really described a use case for why this artifact of the whole dtmf protocol is really needed.   especially when, with the asterisk system, there is almost an unlimited functionality with using just the 10 digits bracketed by the star and octothorpe.

Good comment about VOIP even though not to my liking. Since IaxRpt is capable of passing DTMF to Node Radios as well as other telephone equipment I was curious as to why exclude the other 4 buttons? And did anyone have an easy fix to add them rather than creating Macros to send the other 4 DTMF sequences. Current mode is like building a convertible and not including a top. Makes it strictly a fair weather unit and prevents it's use as a rain or snow vehicle.

button keypad not a 16 key.

Anyone know a way to add the other 4 buttons (A,B,C,D) or send their
tones as if they are being dialed from the keypad?
