Re: [App_rpt-users] Need some Ground Up Information
Thank you kindly for the information. So I do not need an operating system on the micro sd first, just the image of the allstar programming. Here is a real rube question then. I do need a cable to attach the Pi4 to a windows box. USB to USB? Jeffrey
No..... you simply place the SD card in a USB adapter and plug it into the windows machine. Download the file and do a disk image to the SD card. insert the SD card in the Pi and stand back as it configures itself...... On Tue, Sep 24, 2019 at 12:08 PM Jeffrey Reid <N6TDG@mail.com> wrote:

Jeffrey... Download the Allstar microSD image Then download a windows app that will put the Allstar image on a microSD card connected to your windows PC. https://sourceforge.net/projects/win32diskimager/ or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tsqJwRdszyM Then move the microSD from the windows PC to the Pi. ================================= Tim Govin K7TPG +1.435.655.1520 ‐‐‐‐‐‐‐ Original Message ‐‐‐‐‐‐‐ On Tuesday, September 24, 2019 2:08 PM, Jeffrey Reid <N6TDG@mail.com> wrote:

Jeffrey, The Pi image already has the operating system included. No need to have an OS on the micro sd card before you image to the card. You need a screen and keyboard attached to the Pi. The Pi used HDMI for a screen and you can use a USB keyboard. Or you can use SSH and remote into the Pi from another computer, but you need the ip address of the Pi to do that.
