Today I created a release tag of ASL-1.01 to make downloading the ASL 1.01 source easier without using git. Is there work going on to move app_rpt to a modern LTS version of Asterisk? It looks from this repo that Allstar is still based on Asterisk 1.4 (released 2006) which lost upstream fixes (including security) back in 2012. Good question. Steve Zingman was the one who merged in that change back before the ASL 1.01 release. Reading the code and comments, my guess it has something to do with echolink node numbers. -Stacy KG7QIN

There is a -dev mailing list. As of today subscribers are being accepted to it. They still require approval, but that is mostly to ensure that it isn't getting flooded by people trying to use it for tech support. Thanks Stacy. I successfully compiled on Raspbian Stretch this morning with the kernel locked at the earlier version with OSS support. It would be nice if someone more knowledgeable about Asterisk than I could include a list of needed dev packages. I had to add g++-4.9, libncurses-dev, libusb- dev,libssl-dev and libcrypto++-dev. There are likely others but this was on a system I'd already used for other dev work so I'm sure some packages were already installed. In addition I noticed the config.log file contained lots of attempts to test for packages that were not available but did not stop the build.
