I have an IPad and would like to run the Allstar Portal software however the Ipad does NOT support JAVA at this time, is there any app that might help. Frank
Per Saint Steve, Java is a dead/dying language, it will never be supported on the IPOD/IPHONE/IPAD. "Java's not worth building in. Nobody uses Java anymore. It's this big heavyweight ball and chain." - Steve Jobs 73, Scott On 2/8/2012 8:19 PM, Fran wrote:

Not in the predictable future. Nor flash. Not on this platform. And considering the number of times in a week that Adobe seemingly pushes out a security patch for flash, I'm thinking that our friends at Apple were correct not to include that capability (and Adobe has announced that it's migrating away from it...in favor of HTML5). Java is a bloated (sorry, it is...reminds me of ADA) language that doesn't fit well into the i-whatever ecosystem. It runs ok on the full-size machines, but, I'm thinking that having it on a tablet or iPhone would really push the envelope. There are some work-arounds such as cloud-browse, but, you will then be working through an intermediate layer to get to where you want to be, which will have an impact on your performance. Echolink for the iPad works just fine, though. Use it all the time. As do a couple of other iax clients. Just don't expect Java to show up (unless you jailbreak your device) any time soon. Just my $.02. -- Bryan In this world, you must be oh so smart or oh so pleasant. Well, for years I was smart. I recommend pleasant. You may quote me. Sent from my MacBook Pro.
