Re: [App_rpt-users] Periodic plea for help
My remote node connection is just over the internet. I use a start up macro. The connection at the offending node is a static IP on a business class cable modem. The remote node is also a cable modem but not a static IP. I checked this morning and the IP has not changed. Zoiper is being run on a windows 7 laptop 24/7. It has run fine for many months. Starting about a month ago it is dropping every evening. The zoiper program says "normal call clearing" I am supposed to get an email from my node with connect/disconnect notices. I've noticed I do not get a disconnect notice from the remote node or zoiper. Although if I manually hang the call up I will get one or if I disconnect the node. It is as if my node is shutting down all remote connections nightly, but I'm not sure why or where to look. On Mar 12, 2015 12:47 PM, "Technology Frontier | TF.OPS2" <tf.ops2@gmail.com> wrote:
From the little bit of information that is available it sounds like your Internet connection is resetting in the overnight hours. Need to gather some more information:
What type of connection do you have to the remote node?
Is the connection to the remote node using a static (permanent) or dynamic IP address?
Are you running Zoiper on a Linux or Windows computer (or evens a "smart" appliance -- aka smart phone)?

I seem to be having a problem with my iax connection I keep open 24/7 every morning the PC I keep zoiper open full time is disconnected it says "normal call clearing". I just recently setup a permanent connection from a remote node to this node that I run zoiper on full time. The connection seems to be disconnecting as well in the wee hours. I usually ssh into my remote node and issue astres.sh and the connection automatically comes back.
Is there anyone here who can help me determine why my node is doing this? I've only been at this for a year I've gotten better but this problem appears over my head.
Thank you Bob/N1XBM
