Echolink and IRLP are usually not set up to be full duplex, and are definitely not full duplex if used through a reflector. An autopatch cannot be used on anything but a full duplex system for obvious reasons. The lack of autopatching and limited full duplex support in echoling and IRLP was one of the reasons we wrote app_rpt. There is no digital bridge written to bridge app_rpt, and echolink and IRLP, and due to these reasons we don't see the point in writing one. Steve.

This will just be my day to ask dumb questions. Even though it is not widely accepted there are ways to cross connect IRLP & Echolink. Has anyone made a way to interface Asterisk to Echolink or IRLP. This could be used in emergency but I'm also thinking about a VOIP phone patch via Echolink.
Example you are in an area that has an functioning Echolink node but no phone patch you connect to a remote node that cross the connection to Asterisk and then gives you dial tone.
Does that make any since?
