The astdb has been NOTHING other then a serious RPITA (Royal Pain In The You-Know-Where) ever since it has been used by chan_echolink. It has caused (and continues to cause) endless stupid problems, and I think its about that that I come up with some other way of doing what needs to be done that doesnt involve it. JIM WB6NIL

Our group has "telemetry" turned off and we do not announce connect/disconnect. Now I do not know which node you noticed this on, but the function is there as Jim stated. As for the DMTF command list. I for one do NOT want the DMTF codes available to ANYONE especially those not registered. It is a security issue, plain and simple. There are functions that each repeater owner implements, and you do NOT need access to alot of it. You want to publish your commands, good for you, but being in the rptr building biz since the late 70's I have learned that there are "players" out there and they do not need toys to have access to. But like we're not talking about an *entire* command list necessarily, its just the basic commands needed to make the 'Allstar' thing happen. Each node owner is given a 'free-form' field to add whatever else they want, but its really just for the basic commands that should be available to all as a result of being an Allstar node to begin with.
