Ken, That's another step forward, thanks. But it seems to be showing that asterisk is not getting an RPT_RXKEYED signal as I feared. Assuming COS is connected to the Volume Down pin on the CM108 then how about plugging the fob into another PC which is not running the Asterisk drivers and see if the volume control is affected when COS is asserted? On my PC, if I press volume down, either on the keyboard or on an unmodified USB sound fob then a volume bar pops up in the centre of the screen. It's very visible. That suggests it's not hardware to me too. I'm not at all familiar with Asterisk. I only joined this group to learn about the modifications of the USB Sound fobs for another project, sorry. To answer a previous query - yes I'm pretty confident it's a CM108 - lsusb reports "ID 0d8c:013c C-Media Electronics, Inc." I did also wonder about the other ctcss settings but commenting them out and reloading the config makes no difference. My app_rpt is version 0.287 - as supplied with the AllStar ACID distro. One last thing about the cos input. It has an internal pullup resistor so it is looking for an "active low" or the pin needs to be grounded to see activity. If you have your cos=usbinvert, then it needs to be grounded to see a receiver active condition. If you have it set to "usb" then it is normally low (grounded) and then the input should go to a "float hi" or "hi Z" to see receiver activity. You can test this by grounding the pin to see if you are getting a receive active. If the signal you are connecting to that pin sources voltage then that voltage is blocked by the diode. But it when that signal "goes low" does it ground the signal or just doesn't source any voltage? This does make a difference.
