It's been awhile since I posted here. I have a question about the "Motorola Tone Remote Control", (i.e.) 2175 hz + 1950 hz + 2175 hz(low level gaurd tone) Protocol used in Motorola base stations and repeaters. I am wondering if anyone has written a channel driver for it? If not then I can look into it. I am thinking the remote base code could be modified. That would give us the ability to control XTL5000 and Astro Spectra base stations in 4 wire mode. It's easy to connect a base station through ACC port 2 for audio and ptt but there is no provision there for channel selection. TRC would give us 8 channels selectable Eventually maybe a DRC (digital remote control) channel driver could be written too. I am not really the best programmer in the world, but I do know how to manage and run a development team. The TRC is fairly straight forward. The DRC will take some work but could be done. Any thoughts? Ron Simpson N6GKJ
