simpleusb-tune-menu
alright, so things did NOT go as planned with a fresh install. This is the lovely message I get, and I got it once before, only to have solved, if memory recalls, by doing a complete re-install. Of which I do NOT want to do again. I've had this issue in the past, in 2013, and the issue never got solved. FWIW, the URI was plugged in during the install and when running firsttime.sh asterisk -r [Oct 17 22:52:16] NOTICE[6334]: app_rpt.c:22024 rpt_master: RPT thread restarted on 28569 [Oct 17 22:52:16] WARNING[6334]: app_rpt.c:22036 rpt_master: rpt_thread restarted on node 28569 [Oct 17 22:52:16] WARNING[6366]: channel.c:3051 ast_request: No channel type registered for 'SimpleUSB' [Oct 17 22:52:18] NOTICE[6334]: app_rpt.c:22024 rpt_master: RPT thread restarted on 28569 [Oct 17 22:52:18] WARNING[6334]: app_rpt.c:22036 rpt_master: rpt_thread restarted on node 28569 [Oct 17 22:52:18] WARNING[6369]: channel.c:3051 ast_request: No channel type registered for 'SimpleUSB' [Oct 17 22:52:20] NOTICE[6334]: app_rpt.c:22024 rpt_master: RPT thread restarted on 28569 [Oct 17 22:52:20] WARNING[6334]: app_rpt.c:22036 rpt_master: rpt_thread restarted on node 28569 [Oct 17 22:52:20] WARNING[6370]: channel.c:3051 ast_request: No channel type registered for 'SimpleUSB' [Oct 17 22:52:22] NOTICE[6334]: app_rpt.c:22024 rpt_master: RPT thread restarted on 28569 [Oct 17 22:52:22] WARNING[6334]: app_rpt.c:22036 rpt_master: rpt_thread restarted on node 28569 [Oct 17 22:52:22] WARNING[6373]: channel.c:3051 ast_request: No channel type registered for 'SimpleUSB' [Oct 17 22:52:24] ERROR[6334]: app_rpt.c:22019 rpt_master: Continual RPT thread restarts, killing Asterisk repeater*CLI> Disconnected from Asterisk server # simpleusb-tune-menu Error parsing device parameters # nano rpt.conf: rxchannel=SimpleUSB/usb_28569 ... # nano simpleusb.conf: ; SimpleUSB configuration [general] [usb_28569] ... Evidently, I failed to mention rpt.conf *had* two other pseudo nodes. in a series of last ditch attempts (one more again! Dammit, does this work? No?! WTF?! Let's try this! Not it either?! man....) nodesetup.sh was run and configs were downloaded from the ASL portal. Interesting to note that while 29314 is a DAHDI/pseudo node, there is text for 29314 in simpleusb.conf. Um? Yes, it works now, however, missing many line items in rpt.conf that came with DIAL 8.5. I would like to understand what simpleusb-tune-menu is looking for, and what else changed in my particular case when configs were downloaded from ASL portal versus what came stock with DIAL 8.5. I'm tired, but we'll see what else I can break tomorrow. ~Benjamin, KB9LFZ P.S. Almighty code maintainers, PLEASE do not take my lamenting as a lack of dis-credit. You guys do significantly more than I can ever do, so I sincerely say, "I am not worthy!" On Tue, 2017-10-17 at 23:12 -0500, Benjamin Naber wrote:

Do you have it enabled in modules.conf ? -- Bryan Fields 727-409-1194 - Voice http://bryanfields.net
Bryan, I already nuked whatever was there with the config download from ASL portal. I will definitely keep your suggestion in the back pocket. Very interesting. After writing the the above line, I discovered I did save the stock DIAL 8.5 asterisk configs: $ nano modules.conf ... noload => chan_simpleusb.so ... Curious though, why would simpleusb NOT be loaded by default. USBradio was not enabled either, as usbradio-tune-menu did not work. Smart man, Bryan. 2.5 points for you, haha! ~Benjamin, KB9LFZ On Wed, 2017-10-18 at 00:56 -0400, Bryan Fields wrote:
