Thanks for the response, the information is very helpful.

The package I have is clearly marked Cmedia Cm108 USB 7.1 Channel Sound. But the identity is Bus 004 Device 002: ID 0c76:1607 JMTek, LLC.

When I open the device, it has a round black “BUG” or “blob” in the middle of the board, not a clearly defined chip.

There are no markings on the “BUG”.
