Might be off topic but Is the USB radio interface by DMK supported with the PC echo link client? Have a friend who wants to setup the PC echo link and had only usb. I'm trying to convince him to just do Allstar with echo link but I am curious if it works using the PC client.
Echolink uses the windows sound card and a USB or serial port for control. There are or at least were interfaces out there for it. The DMK URI won't work. I think you should encourage your friend to go with Allstar - BBB or RPi2 which has Echolink. He might just decide that Allstar is a better choice. 73 Doug WA3DSP http://www.crompton.com/hamradio

Advanced Repeater Systems has a USB device for both Echolink and Allstar. (They are nicely refined versions of the USB Sound FOB modification instructions you find for AllStar.) Echolink interface: http://www.arsrepeaters.com/EchoLink_Interfaces.php (won't work with AllStar. It uses a CM118 chip, but not the right one. I have one, and trying to use any of the usb radio to include chan_alsaradio causes problems -- it comes up as C-Media Headphone Set and doesn't have all the sound channels/controls a normal CM108 USB Sound FOB does ). I have opened the case on mine, it is basically a USB Sound FOB modified and mated with their radio interface board. And there is a version for WinLink too.
