I noticed you can generate POCSAG messages with app_rpt but is there a way to decode them with it? I am looking to have it decode the message and have a script act on received pocsag messages that match a set criteria to say send a text or an email. All I need to know if it is possible and if it his a point in the right direction as to how. Thank you!
Joe, Take a look at the SDR programs like Gqrx and the like. Here is a link that gives you an example of decoding POCASG using multimon-ng (you will have to scroll down to see the section on this): http://gqrx.dk/doc/streaming-audio-over-udp You should be able to also use a program like rtl_fm and pipe the output into multimon-ng to decode the data (skipping the need to use nc and gqrx). (You will need one of those cheap under $20 DVB-T+DAB-FM usb decoders at the least to do this with and an antenna to pick the traffic up-- the NooElec and clones you can find on Amazon). -Stacy KG7QIN On 12/07/2016 10:56 AM, Joe Moskalski wrote:
