I have a need to configure a modem remotely via SSH on my acid box. I somehow goofed up port 4569, I do however have the ssh port properly configured so I do have access to the box. Is there a web browser already configured in the acid build? If not, would someone be so kind to guide me to the process of installing it? It would save me a long drive back to the site. Thank you in advance. Lu, KA4EPS
There's Lynx Browser, which is a text based browser that you can use via the command line. Not sure if it's already configured in the acid build, but you should be able to install it if it isn't Jesse On Sun, Aug 30, 2015 at 7:26 PM, Lu Vencl <luvencl8@gmail.com> wrote:

you need to use port redirection by ssh tuneling. that way you can access the router settings from your remote machine. if you use putty on a windows machine to connect to your acid machine. hereis how to do it. http://howto.ccs.neu.edu/howto/windows/ssh-port-tunneling-with-putty/ Sent from my iPad

If you can ssh to your acid box you can login and then ssh to the modem/router assuming it has ssh access. It may be only http. If it has ssh then at the Acid box just - ssh user@modem_ip -p port user is the username of the modem/router and port is whatever port it is on. 22 is default if -p is not defined. modem_ip is the internal address of the router/modem. 73 Doug WA3DSP http://www.crompton.com/hamradio

Also if you can live without connection into the node until you can get there, you can make connections out via ssh. If you absolutely need inbound connections and you have a spare node at another location you can connect the remote node to it and then have other temporarily connect to that node. 73 Doug WA3DSP http://www.crompton.com/hamradio
