Running RTCM's over the public internet can be a challenge (depending on the ISP and if latency remains consistent or not). Hello Jeff - ???? We are using voted receivers - and it is very interesting thatyou mention the network issues causing the dropping which Idescribe as GPS drops. ??????? I assumed since the error on the serial monitor indicatesthat the "GPS ....lost.." followed by "acquiring... xx satellites inview" then "establishing.." (I dont recall the actual wording)statements to be caused by an interruption of the GPS, or thehandling of the GPS serial by the RTCM DSPic.? Duringthe test of the full system last night I noticed over two-dozeninterruptions, mostly at the remote transmitter site, that causeda lot of problems.? All of the sites are on the same ISP withover 1-Gbs bandwidth at all of the sites. I called the ISP this afternon and was told that at 7-9PM last night that the POP where theTX was located, the bandwidth was full - this makes a lot ofsense now....? ALSO, today we noticed that the DMR systemat the site is having refresh and registration issues from packetdrop with the C-Bridge, and the ISP bandwidth issues still persist. ??????? It does appear that the network is a serious limitation untilthe next Gb of bandwidth is completed, at least to our transmit"site", slated for the next month? So the network is now a known problem. Just curious, how are you sure it's GPS dropping?? I had a similar issue and I was sure it was GPS but it wound up being a network issue on a network that I was SURE was perfect.? What's your setup?? Hello Jeff - In the final configuration the transmitter, master and serverwill be at the same location. Right now, the master and serverare at my QTH, and the transmitter is at the "repeater" locationabout 8 miles West. I have a node for the ISP, which is allmicrowave, but the path to the repeater site takes me back to the ISP TOC about 15 miles SouthEast, through their routingback to the repeater. The fact that the DMR system is havinga drop-packet issue is a strong indication, the comment about the full bandwidth by the ISP indicates that it really is a network problem. The GPS is probably fine. It really looks as if we need to establish our own RF links. Ubiquiti or Mikrotik radios will do fine as long as you stay away from 2.4 gig. That should help. Oddly enough I had some weird GPS issue with 3 of my sites this morning...not sure what that was about. Once you get it running you'll love it!
