I have seen this before, jog my memory please... Asterisk loads part way and gets stuck in the loading of chan_iax2.so. If i noload iax2 everything works. asterisk process is hung, can't ctrl-c, consumes 100% cpu can kill -9 asterisk. All I did was reboot to try out a new kernel. I did recompile zaptel and modules loaded. rebooting into old kernel has same result. internet connectivity is fine, dns is fine.
