Sure... discrimination and because District 2 Director and Vice were running their mouth, and I just cant stand double face people. They group with another bad example as Director and Ham who is Mike and put pressure on others to vote me out. They ran an illegal election for three reasons: 1. Because they admitted a Ham from D2 to run against rules; 2. Because they ran an election in an odd year against the rules; and 3. Anyways, another Latin or Cuban won the election and because he was Latin, the election was nullified. These are the real reasons, but if you have other stories... come up with it. Because they don't follow the Rules themselves. They don't know them or plainly they run a dictatorship. The discrimination and illegal activities from those bad Directors destroyed the largest and most productive District. But, Hams in Dade do not care to act or fight.... A group was formed and we were ready to form a new Coordinating body, but some in the group didn't want to work much. Time and efforts are needed to get it done. We bought the program and were ready to start, but as I wrote before....????? This Miami-Dade County should had started their own Coordinating body long ago, and spread around the State. I am not interested in being a Director, but I am willing to help in forming one that will clear all of the flaws of the FRC. You guys are young and full of energy and can start it. Its a challenge! Out of all of them, I was the third oldest Director and I gave many years of my life to the FRC and Ham radio as a whole, but unfortunately, some members came in to destroy our hobby. you can threaten me all you like but I've heard it from several hams, so unless the entire south florida ham community is out to get you.... and when I was looking for a pair there were none available but there was a 2m repeater for sale and you would get the pair for free... anyway you know as well as I do that getting a 2M pair down here was impossible for anyone except a select few people, and a ton of people had backyard repeaters using up pairs for no reason
and then my favorite, I put a repeater up on 147.345 that was coordinated in district 2 to a silent key (seriously) and was off the air, a couple weeks later they discovered the error and said they were putting it up and the coordination was given to someone else but hadn't been updated in the listings blah blah blah

I tried years ago and gave up… The FRC completely killed any interest I had in ham radio repeaters… before you had to buy your repeater pairs from the district coordinator and after he was removed our district was dissolved and given to district 2, which is where most of our problems came from…
At this point I have no idea if my repeaters are even coordinated anymore and honestly I don't care, they are on a government building sponsored by the Miami Dade Office of Emergency Management, and the only reason I maintain them is because they (MD-OEM) have asked me to.. if it ever became a problem I would just turn them off… then Miami would have exactly zero wide-area VHF repeaters and district 2 would finally win

Hi Ron and John,
I have dealt with Dana on three repeaters, mine and two that the county turned over to me as ARES EC for the county and as a volunteer himself he has done a good job. And I agree with both of you.
Have a good week and keep your feet dry.

John,
Yes, I think you are correct. Just seems I was not getting replies from others. have been getting today.
It is good to have these discussions and the FRC does need guidance from us into repeaters. Just seems one guy has a beef and wants to take over and he has little to do with repeaters really. More of a club board member. And being into the internet service or an IT guy is very little tech knowledge of this subject. Engineering firms do not consider IT guys technical people. But they have a valuable place.
I think the FRC does a good job, but they are often slow. Our District 4 director has responded to me quickly in last year when i need assistance in getting a pair for a repeater. not sure what other directors do. Dana is very slow, I think he picks one Saturday in the month and works on what he has received, hi. But he is very knowledgeable about the issues...has lots of experience over the last 20 years dealing with the issues.

Good morning Ron,
Is it possible that you're capturing all of the email messages from the FRC list server? It appears that you've somehow arrived at the decision that all are not allowed to communicate in this venue. Here are the archives: http://lists.keekles.org/pipermail/frc-info/
I posted a message to the group yesterday, and while it appeared to all on the list almost immediately, I personally didn't see it arrive in my own mailbox for quite some time. I see this happen quite frequently on the Tower-Talk list server.

Gentleman, Let's refrain from ad-hominem attacks. Secondly, this incident was 15+ years ago, no? I'm not saying it did or did not happen, but bickering about it will not move us forward with today's problems. I think there is a quite a bit of common ground here between Nilo and Frank regarding the current dysfunction of the FRC. Can we agree to let the past be the past and work on the future? If the board is refusing to follow the rules of the FRC, they open themselves up to personal liability. As a member or the FRC you would have standing to sue them in court and get a judgement for specific performance. A non-profit cannot engage in discrimination, and it's a serious problem if it does. I can really see the benefit of having a diverse group of amateurs on the board and as directors. Certainly having a few Spanish speakers in a district where Spanish is 50% of the populations 1st language would be a good thing, no?

We can reset the FRC and call for a constitutional convention if we wanted. I think there is much wrong with the current bylaws and we need to reform them. Term limits would go a long way to prevent this, along with delegating much less to the board. I've certainly thought about it, but I'm going to reform the FRC, or at least try. I have nothing personal against Nilo, but as far as south florida hams not fighting against the frc, I tried man, I really did, but they have an incredible way of doing nothing that's incredibly frustrating... I don't know if the FRC is salvageable, it's been barely functional in any capacity for quite some time now On Sat, Oct 8, 2016 at 10:57 AM, Bryan Fields <Bryan@bryanfields.net> wrote:

We have to try. Send me your proxy or attend the meeting and vote with me. It's either that, sue them, or start a new body. I think it would do much more good to hit the reset button on the FRC, redraw bylaws, and make it into an organization which works, fairly to all amateurs. 73's -- Bryan Fields 727-409-1194 - Voice http://bryanfields.net
Well I have to state that over the years both Nilo (was District 1 Director) and Dana of the FRC has served me well They were always very responsive to my inquiries and renewals The meeting in Melbourne might shed some light on the issue It would appear easier to fix the wheel rather than invent it John -- John Mc Hugh, K4AG Coordinator for Amateur Radio National Hurricane Center, WX4NHC Home page:- http://www.wx4nhc.org
