We had a work day today; starting before dawn at the site. Matt, and I were assisted by Jerry, KD4YAL and Ryan, KJ4SHL. I can't express how awesome it was to have their help. We got onsite at 6:30 and had the outside work done by 10:30. Matt got a DStar repeater up on 443.425, using the main 440 repeater antenna as a receive and another as a transmit. This will also work in analog wide band mode with a 141.3 PL tone. We have an extra run of 7/8 cable to roof if we need in the future. We got it grounded/terminated as well. The HamWAN IP Data radios and antennas are installed and reachable over the IP space. I need to configure the radios to get them working but we have management. We grounded all the Cat5 cables at both the top of the "birdcage" and the entrance into the shelter. There is a POE rater surge suppressor inside the shelter on wall for each run, and we have 3 extra ones as well. Hopefully this will protect the switch from anything. I don't have any pictures, but I believe Matt does. I'll get the radios configured later if I'm feeling up to it. I think we're all worn out from today. Radios are configured. You should have bridged connection and get an IP from 44.98.248.0/27 A basic client config is below.

I've not tested any of this, and as of now the radio will get an IP in 44.98.248.0/27 as well. I'd like to figure out how to get the radio to get an IP out of the vlan 30 mgmt space at 44.98.249.1/27, but thats for later. I'm posting from Downtown St Pete now, right off 2nd Ave North, 16.1 Miles to the site. I have a -75 dBm signal, and there is some local reflections. I'm sure it could be improved with minor tweaking but this is a proof of install test. Speedtest.net thinks I'm in San Diego, but we're still showing about 10mbit/s from there. http://www.speedtest.net/result/5466515980.png With a bit of height and no people walking in front of the dish I'm sure we'd do much better. The AP is on 5880 in the ham only space, the band is very quiet, and I've detected no other users (that's good!). FSG has 3 radios/dishes now. We need some metal cases for them but we should be good to go to test with. A donation for a radio/antenna would be appropriate.
