I am not sure what you are trying to accomplish overall. You obviously have
the system
connected to a standard simplex tranceiver. Dont you want to configure it as
a remote base?
The configuration you have is for repeaters (generally full-duplex).
If you really are setting up a simplex repeater node (kind of contradiction
in terms, huh?), you
definitely want duplex =0 or 1. 2 is for full duplex RF hardware only.
As far as being able to hear what the receiver hears on a phone connection,
if you are using
the 'P' option on the extension in extensions.conf, and the *98/# PTT works,
then you
definitely should be able to hear what the receiver is hearing from the
phone connection.
