Yes I second the recommendation to thoroughly read the repeater-builder site.

Also be aware that radios that aren't meant to be repeaters usually make poor repeaters without serious know-how.  Issues of heat dissipation and spectral purity at lower-than-rated power levels are just the tip of the iceberg.  There are many other issues which repeater-builder.com can help you understand.

	I'm trying to get a repeater project going and think I have most

	I'd love to setup a small low power local service repater

church's location. I haven't approached the church about this
possibility yet, 
since it's still very early in the planning process.

	Those Motorola Maxtrax radios are really attractive because it's
possible 
to get a pair of them on eBay for around $100.00 or so. Put these
together 
with a $100.00 computer from our local FreeGeek store, and that's most
of a 
repeater if I understand this all correctly.

	Ideas, feedback, etc, welcome! :) :)
