  Yep I’ve tried disabling everything possible (everything that takes an interrupt and/or cpu cycles) NTPD included.

  I’ve never noticed anything as such to make a significant difference…

  I’ve reached the conclusion:

  1.       USB sucks (as I’ve been told by the pros here) and it’s never going to get any better (on USB).

  2.       The software is still imperfect and has room to be improved (better kernel /os/usb/timer integration).

  When I grow up & get smarter/more experienced I’ll either agree with the pros or fix it.
