I have been over the archive of this mail list, thru the web sire how to's, 
and need to ask. Is there a way to disable the voice announcements? I have 
one link that stays nailed up to a base station where somne seniors are 
listening and they get bothered by the voice announcement when connects and 
disconnects happen. And I've had some wiggles on the power here that caused 
Limey to reboot, and then at 6AM they get the message and it wakes them up. 
You have to understand folks almost 90 years old...phone calls after 9PM or 
before 8AM=sombody died, etc. Same thing with these voice announcements...it 
breaks the peace.

I tried simply changing the name on the directory the gsm files live in, 
buit then nothing would even connect. So that didn't fly...
