[App_rpt-users] Planning an Allstar System

I'm planning my Allstar system installation. It'll be a couple months or so before I get the system running, but want to learn as much as I can now
I have a few questions.
My setup will consist of a repeater and at least one remote base. I want 2M and 70CM accessible via a remote base. Can I do this with one radio, or do I need to use separate radios?
I want to set up my remote base so you enter a code and your callsign is announced. Once the remote is configured how the user wants, how do you prevent an unauthorized person from controlling the system?
When entering remote base command codes, do you do it in one transmission, or do you press *4+node number, unkey, and then enter command+pound sign. Do you have to enter the pound sign after every command sequence?
The web page for remote base configuration recommends radios to use. Those radios aren't being manufactured anymore. What are people using for remote base radios? I would like my remote base to be frequency agile if possible.
My last question is about courtesy tones. When the repeater is not connected I want to have a "K" sent as a tone. When my system is connected to a remote node, I want to have a sound like a dial tone sent for local transmissions, and a double dial tone sound for remote transmissions. Can I do this?
