I've used these successfully
http://www.dealextreme.com/p/c-media-cm108-virtual-7-1-surround-usb-2-0-external-sound-card-with-hardware-volume-control-and-mute-21812
$6.99 sungle with shipping.
3 units for $6.04 each, 5 for $5.84 each, all includes shipping.
But (one more pitch) you do not need to modify if you just use the FOB for audio and use the parallel port for COR and PTT.

No, your not spinning your wheels. Check out the URI at the URL below. Or if you'd rather roll your own the Startech (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829128004) is a viable option.

The only supported audio is through USB, the too-expensive QuadPCI card, a LOX/Beagle board, or the soon to be released thin client.

Yep, no porblem wiping out the computer.. I will get a new some new dvd's or cd's and try it again tonight maybe that is the issue.. As for the interface basically was just wanting to know if you can use a serial port instead of a USB port..
Thanks for your help.

You are aware that the ACID install will wipe out your Windows load?
It doesn't mater if you drag it or click it as long as it shows up in the left pane of Disk Utility.
I don't think it maters that it's a 32 bit motherboard.
I don't know what a rascall interface is. Interfaces which I know to work are the DMK Engineering URI (http://dmkeng.com/URI_Order_Page.htm), modified USB sound fobs as detailed on the Drupal web site (http://ohnosec.org/drupal/node/27) and PLRI board (http://www.qsl.net/k0kn/plri.html)
Most of this stuff is documented on either https://allstarlink.org/ or http://ohnosec.org/drupal/
Let us know how it goes.

The computer i am using is a compaq computer that has windows xp but its a 32 bit mother board will that matter? Also will i be able to use my rascall interface or will i have to purchase a different adapter..

Did you use the Disk Utility application to burn the iso image or the Finder? Finder will just copy the image onto the CD, which won't be bootable. Open Disk Utility and then drag the iso image into the left pane, make sure it is highlighted and press the burn icon.

For some reason i burned the iso image on my mac and put the new dvd in the windows computer to load up but for some reason it tries to read and then does nothing.. I have already went into the bios to set up to boot from CD rom but no joy.. I then booted that machine into windows and i was able to read the disk so i know the DVD drive is working but still can't get the computer to boot .. is there a installation disc i can just purchase. also has anyone used a rascal interface with this system?
