You can certainly do this, but the concept behind a hub node is that none of 
the computer's resources are being tied up handling the intensive work of 
addressing connected hardware, be it URI, Beagle Board, RTCM, or a sound 
FOB. A hub node allows 100% of the resources to be used to handle the 
connected nodes. If you begin experiencing brief "holes" in the node audio, 
you have stretched the machine too thin on resources. I'm sure there are 
other issues that can arise as well.
