Where I used to live the ISP (Sierra Tel Internet) used to FORCE its customers
to use Zyxel modems. They, and other modems have TERRIBLE inconsistencies
in NAT and other aspects of their routing.
I totally agree.
I "fixed" the problem by putting a hardware timer on the thing which powered it
off and then right back on at 4AM.
