[App_rpt-users] ACID not starting Asterisk

Try doing a:

chkconfig -list asterisk (That's dash dash list, I hate outlook)

If it shows all off do

chkconfig asterisk on

then do the above and see if it's got on in runlevel 3 and you should be
good to go.

You can also do a:

service asterisk start

and see if it gets any errors.

Subject: [App_rpt-users] ACID not starting Asterisk

I tripped over the power cord and disconnected my ACID box.

On restart, I noted something odd. It no longer automatically loads asterisk
or safe_asterisk. I am wondering if a file was damaged. When I type
safe_asterisk at root, asterisk loads up fine and then I can type asterisk
-r to get to the CLI, etc. If I don't, then asterisk is not working, and in
fact is not running. Once I do a manual start then everything else seems to
be working.

In trying to trouble shoot this, I realize that in the boot process within
the ACID version, I do not understand how asterisk is automatically called
to load. That is one place where I want to see if there is some sort of
problem. Can someone tell me the correct files to look at for that? I have
added a line to /etc/rc.d/local to start safe_asterisk, thinking that
whatever the boot issue is, I might be able to get it to load during these
last few steps of the reboot process, but this did not work.

Also, any other suggestions as to where to look for a bad file would be
great. I may even need to compare my file to someone else's to see where the
problem is.

Thanks,

steve
