If you check the actual specifications, they are good to 55c in a sealed
container and are good to 85C in any form of exposed. The intel chipset is
good to 115C.
so unless you have a really nasty environment, I suspect they will work just
fine...

Yup - these Atom processors will just shut down if they get too hot. I found
that out once by accident.
I suspect that the no-fans-needed concept refers to use in a climate
controlled environment.
