Hi Steve,
It's a long shot but its possible your PC may be having linux USB issues...
I have had major problems with some intel motherboards using the onboard USB with linux.To check, get a cheap USB 2.0 pci card and try that in the PC with the uri plugged into the card.
Even changing to another USB port on the same motherboard can help!

Run the dmesg command and look for any USB error messages.
If dmesg has no errors and your Allstar config is ok, then try a cheap USB 2.0 pci card
