[App_rpt-users] Modified USB Audio Problems on Acid install

Hello Rich and welcome to Allstar,

I am a relative newcomer to Allstar myself although not to Asterisk, its base system, which I have been using for almost 10 years in my home PBX. So I don't have a lot of experience with app_rpt

It seems you are trying to do a lot of things rather than taking it one step at a time. First you have to get your modified sound FOB working with the hardware. From what you say it is working in keying your transmitter and sending audio to you from the allstar system. Can you use your transceiver to send commands to your local Allstar? Can you do a *80 or *81 and hear a response? Can you connect to other nodes - *3nodenumber ?

It sounds like Allstar may not be seeing carrier detect from your transceiver. This is configured in usbradio.conf but there are also settings in rpt.conf that would effect the operation. I assume you are using a simplex node. If so you need to set the duplex statement in rpt.conf to either 0 or 1. It is set to 2 (duplex) by default.

I choose to use simpleusb for my radio interface and as long as you can get a COS or CTCSS carrier detect signal from your rig this is a lot easier way to start off. I realize that usbradio and its DSP function offer a lot more capability in most cases this is really not needed and greatly adds to the complication when you are first getting things running.

First you have to get your radio interface working and then you can attack you SIP and other problems.

Subject: [App_rpt-users] Modified USB Audio Problems on Acid install

Hello, Im very new to this and although I have spent the past week or so trying to fix these issues myself I have to now admit im stuck! Im still learning when it comes to linux!! The problems
I have are as follows, im not sure who to ask for help hence my general request here!

·
Having installed a modified USB dongle I am unable to get any receive sound (usb microphone input) to appear in the web transceiver application. I have run the radio tune rxnoise, rxvoice and see the stats changing but still
cannot get radio rx sound over the internet. Audio from the web transceiver to my radio works just great, along with the PTT.
·
Im also having problems connecting to my node via the SIP portal, I have a working SIP Telephone setup which I have tested to other nodes so I know the SIP hardware is ok however, when I connect to my node 27308 I get the usual
welcome message, am asked to enter my pin etc and select 2 for manual operation the call goes silent and then eventually disconnects. I have forwarded port 4569 to my server IP.
·
Lastly the UK dial in telephone number appears to be not working with the message node not available, no welcome message just straight to that message!!

Thanks very much for reading my email having exhausted google searches in circles I’m hoping you guys will point out my hopefully silly mistakes!!
