This makes my life simpler... your mileage may vary.

More on using the OS to help in asterisk.

I made a simple alias...

alias rpt='asterisk -rx'

and then pass parameters to it.

#> rpt "rpt nodes [node_number]"

for one example...

Another is simply 'nodes'

alias nodes='asterisk -rx "rpt nodes [node_number]"

Do all this at the Command prompt, as opposed to the CLI> prompt.

To make these changes permanent, edit /root/.bashrc and add them there.
You'll have to log out, and log back in to make changes effective.
