Bryan,

 Yes you will need Dahdi source. You need to remove Zaptel stuff. I would suggest getting it from the BBB image at hamvoip.org.  It already has the Allstar patches in it. It is located in /usr/src/utils/dahdi-linux-complete-2.9.1.1+2.9.1     If not you need to download that version of the code from Digium and apply the patches from the Allstar svn site.

There is a lot to do to get it to compile properly but it is doable. You definitely need the kernel headers or source for your current version of the kernel. Do a  uname -r  to see your current version and download the kernel headers if you don't have them. Then you need to make sure that /lib/modules/<kernel version>/build is a symbolic link to the header code location. Also  a symbolic link to  /lib/modules/<kernel version>/source  to the same location. Dahdi uses those locations to determine where the headers or source are located.

Then you will undoubtedly get many errors in the initial compile and require loading additional packages etc.  Once you get Dahdi compiled you can go on to Asterisk.
