Hi Ryan,
You are mixing apples with oranges in your questions. So, let's separate
them and look at apples (settings) first, then the oranges (not green on
node list).
So, the first obvious thing I see is most likely in your
/etc/asterisk/simpleusb.conf file you need to change "ctcssfrom=no".
Most GM300 users program the 16 pin options connector on the rear such
that pin 8 is BOTH ctcss AND carrier detect. Think of it like a logical
AND operation. Both must be true before that pin will change states. If
you have the 16 channel version, then this works every time. If you have
the 8 channel version, then you must take the extra step of grounding
the back of the mic (can use a paper clip or metal mic clip temporarily)
to put the receiver in to ctcss decode mode. On the 16 channel version,
you certainly could wire up both cos and ctcss detect on separate pins
and program the radio that way via software, but most folks don't do it
that way, as it is just creating extra work on your end.
Now, for the oranges. Is it safe to assume this is a public node number?
Private nodes do not populate the node list. Sort of self explanatory,
but I've been asked that one before. OK, did you uncomment the 2
statpost lines at the end of the node stanza in your
/etc/asterisk/rpt.conf file? Are you sure in your /etc/asterisk/iax.conf
file that your six digit unique node password is showing associated with
your public node number?
