[App_rpt-users] DIAL adding a user

I am adding adding a user login to my system. When I ssh in my prompt is
"$" I am not used to seeing this from working with other distributions. Is
this correct?

When I type su to change to root, I get this

root at repeater:/home/user#

I feel like I've done something wrong here.
