Here's my take.   If you have radios [repeaters] (even ones of different 
manufacture) that exhibit a frequency response equal or greater than the 
bandwidth of the software, and let app_rpt do the signal processing, 
then everything will sound identical. Personally, I could care less how 
a manufacturer intends on how their repeaters should sound.  I want 
everything to sound the same. Allowing the application to do that very 
thing makes a multiple repeater / multiple repeater manufacturer system 
sound alike when channel hopping.

Disclaimer...   I use a version of this application that has the 
availability of wider then stock audio bandwidth for the local path.
