[App_rpt-users] Temporary stop, then restart asterisk

Actually, just turn the repeater off, then later back on. Will test this. I
see I don't have it in rpt.conf.

Also, how do I tell which version of DIAL I have installed?

Thanks,

Bob

Do want to stop AllStar/Asterisk or just turn the repeater off? There is a
COP command for the latter. I'm not in front of a terminal to get you the
command.

OK,

/etc/init.d/asterisk stop <--- Stop asterisk

killall -9 asterisk <---------------- Make sure it's dead

ps ax | grep asterisk <--- Check to see if it's really dead

/etc/init.d/asterisk start <--- start asterisk

ps ax | grep asterisk <--- Check to see if it's really started

The newer release candidate fixes this.

the version, and logging into the node does not say. We've been operating,
pretty much since the introduction of app_rpt on the RPi

Bob,

Are you talking about "bouncing" asterisk? A stop followed by a rapid start?
Which distribution and version are you running?

I have a need to temporarily disable the repeater, then enable it. Timing is
critical, so a delay is undesirable. What is the best way to accomplish
this? I will be logged into the node.

Thanks,
