[App_rpt-users] Using a handmic while using a URI

The iaxRpt app works really well but if you could interface at least the microphone line through a RIGblaster if you have one laying around. You obviously would not use the internal USB sound device if your blaster model is so equipped, but would rather just route the mic audio and PTT through the blaster and connect your stock microphone to the front mic port. The last option would be to homebrew a switchbox with a connector that fits your mic and a cable with an RJ45 plug to your radio and will only need to wire in DPDT toggle switch that will allow you to switch the transceivers mic and PTT lines between the local microphone and the URI.

Bill and all,

It does not. The only ports are the RJ45 for the microphone and the speaker output on the back. The alternative is possible but I rather find a solution to using the stock mic.

Noah,

Does your radio have an auxiliary connector where you could connect the URI to leave your RJ45 connector free to use with the microphone? Alternatively, you might consider installing iaxRpt on one of your PC’s that will give you a desktop dispatch application type access to the radio over via the URI over your LAN. I do that here and it works great.

Hey folks,

I am still planning out the setup for my node. One issue that came up is that of microphones. With the URI, I will have to connect it to the microphone jack of the radio using a RJ45 and to the speaker output. The speaker problem can be easily solved with a splitter. As far as the mic goes, I am a bit confused. If the URI is plugged into the mic port, I obviously cannot use the radio with a hand mic. Is there a way that I can simultaneously use the radio with a RJ45 mic connector at the same time that the URI is connected?
