This is a ridiculous statement. God forbid that we stress someone by trying
to get an organization to be a bit less disfunctional. I didn't know Ray
personally, but obviously he chose these duties, never relinquished them
and, I would guess, took satisfaction in the FRC duties. His health may
have had something to do with the issues that have arisen, certainly the
vesting of the actual coordination with one person and one database in a
single place (until it was hacked) is something that reflected issues, but
you can't blame folks like Bryan who simply identified issues. I haven't
heard any personal attacks from anyone.

Most of us have responsibilities that will need doing after our own death.
It is incumbent upon ALL of us to delegate and insure that succession of
these responsibilites. If we don't, we don't even have ourselves to blame!

When I was president of the Broward ARC, I clearly stated the need for
succession and promised that I would serve no more than two years.

I see little need for repeater coordination these days except in urban
areas and "ego repeaters." I, personally think we can do without the FRC
and move to a more informal method, or perhaps a web based registry. After
all the top level certifying agency, the NFCC seems to be defunct, so there
would be no authority basis for the FRC..
