Used the thumbdv on Brandmeister today and worked great. It was a silent issue that didnt show up until I rebooted the Pi. On Tue, May 16, 2017 at 1:10 AM John D. Hays <john@hays.org> wrote:
3 Amp supplies are recommended for RPi 3 and if you are running higher power USB devices.

All,
I just went thru hell and back with the ThumbDV.
Use a 3 amp 5V power supply on the Raspberry Pi3, especially with Wifi and bluetooth built in. I was using a 2 amp and with ThumbDV on a Rpi3 its not sufficient.
Especially when the ThumbDv worked fine and 30 seconds later it distorted. Well thats about when the wifi starts looking for a connection, drawing power.
See you all in Dayton!
