I've been discussing what's know as Quantar Site Connect (QSC) with the person running that project. Unfortunately it's closed source and he's unwilling to share with others, so it has me thinking of how to interface it with asterisk. The v.24 interface from the Quantar repeater is basically 9600 bps serial, and is not encrypted at all. This gives access to the raw IMBE frames, and I suspect it would be easy to get this into asterisk (heck a usb serial adapter would work). There are some docs on it up here. http://vk2lk.com/wiki/index.php/Understanding_the_Motorola_Quantar_V.24_inte... and there is the referenced thread on p25.ca We'd be able to setup a talkgroup to Allstar node ID scheme and by changing the talkgroup of your subscriber radio you could talk to different nodes. Just a thought, or we could ignore that all together. A RPi2 with a serial dongle and a audio interface could link digital and analog communications from the same system. Vocode it to PCM and send it out as IAX2 trunk traffic. Thoughts? -- Bryan Fields 727-409-1194 - Voice 727-214-2508 - Fax http://bryanfields.net
