sorry vertex 7000 so no jumper to tell it if its external or not. all done I just don't want to hurt the club's repeater. Just didn't know if the URI transmitting the same time the repeater repeating on its own would screw something up On Oct 13, 2013, at 10:42 AM, Tim Sawyer <tim.sawyer@me.com> wrote:
No, it won't hurt the repeater. But it will probably take some repeater modification to get it to accept and mix external and repeat audio. There is a jumper on the db25 that tells the Vertex when the controller is external. Without that jumper audio is repeat only, with it the audio is external audio only.
Duplex mode 3 is a great way to go. Please let us know how you do it.
You didn't say which Vertex, I assumed a 5000. -- Tim :wq

Would it hurt the repeater to set up the computer box with a duplex=3 but still let the repeater do the repeating also. That way if the computer dies the repeater keeps working? didn't know if it would hurt the repeater since the URI would be trying to inject audio the same time the repeater was doing it also..
